WESSEX ACOUSTIC VENUE NEWS

Due to temporary closure of the Farquharson Arms, Pimperne, following recurring ill health by our lovely landlady Sue, we have a new venue!
For one night only, the club will be a house concert at 8pm at John's house in Corfe Mullen. Friday 22nd January, with Wendy Arrowsmith headlining, and support from Terry McDonald and Andy Stone. Address details available on booking. Tickets £5 members, £7 non-members. Book with Kathy on 01202 732239 Space is very limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

Then, what we hope will a permanent home, at the Royal British Legion, Church Lane, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 7AD. This is a superb Georgian style building tucked away behind the Market Place right in the town centre.
We have use of a lovely function room, with drinks available at the well stocked RBL bar. Prices are highly competitive and (according to John) beers are well kept.
The first club night at the Legion will be Friday 12th March with Dave Swarbrick.
For more information or to add yourself to our club mailing list please visit our website www.wessex-acoustic .co.uk or phone Kathy.

This station is channel 168 on sky and is only on in the evening but it has lots of good folk on it.

It also has real ceilidhs, and allot of the top artists. It is usually in Gaelic but has sub titles (good song and music is good in any language) Most Saturday/Sunday nights there are usually at least two excellent folk programs.
But also has some through the week. Link to page with Videos, here

Entry on club nights is free, but we do run a raffle at each meeting to help pay for our occasional visiting guests, when we can afford them. We welcome both members and visitors to share Music, Song, Stories and on occasion Dances. .
